Courtney Vacanti-Birnstihl

Courtney Vacanti Birnstihl is widely known for her work in Omaha television and radio. As a broadcaster, she has worked tirelessly for dozens of charities and has interviewed many high profile personalities including Kevin Spacey, Liam Neeson and one of her favorites – Nebraska’s own Astronaut Clayton Anderson live from the International Space Station.

Courtney’s primary quest is to find a cure for Type I Diabetes, a devastating disease that affects millions and her son, Xavier. Her commitment has led her back to school to become a certified diabetic educator, hoping to raise awareness within the Native American and Hispanic communities where diabetes has become so prevalent.

Courtney is a board member for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, serves for the Opera Omaha Guild, Metro Omaha Builders’ Association, Nebraska Association of Realtors, Act II for the Omaha Community Playhouse and is also a proud member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.
